A Comparative Study of Power Business Intelligence and Tableau Performance in Data Aggregation Tasks

This research aims to compare the performance of Power BI and Tableau in data integration and connection to identify the most efficient tool for practical application. Experiments were conducted using PostgreSQL databases and CSV files with five data volume levels ranging 50,000 rows, 200,000 rows, 1,000,000 rows, 2,000,000 rows and 5,000,000 rows. Each level was tested five times to measure data retrieval speed and system resource utilization, specifically CPU, RAM, and Storage, under identical environments. The findings indicate that Tableau outperforms Power BI in terms of data retrieval speed, RAM efficiency, and storage optimization. Conversely, Power BI demonstrates superior performance in CPU resource management across all data levels. These results serve as a key indicator for selecting the appropriate Business Intelligence technology based on data scale and organizational resources, while providing a theoretical foundation for future research in data visualization.
