The objectives of this study were: (1) to evaluate the learning outcomes after teaching basic statistics using the STAD teaching technique; (2) to compare the post-test scores between male and female students; and (3) to assess student satisfaction with learning basic statistics using the STAD teaching technique. The target group in this study consisted of first-year students from the Faculty of Economics and Tourism, Souphanouvong University, in the academic year 2022–2023, totaling 28 students (14 females). The research instruments included two STAD lesson plans, a post-test, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 21. The results of the study were as follows: The results of the post-teaching evaluation of basic statistics using the STAD teaching technique showed that the post-test mean score was higher than the specified criterion of 70%, with a confidence level of 95%. The comparison of post-test mean scores between male and female students revealed no statistically significant difference (t = 0.658, df = 26, p = 0.516) at the 0.05 level of significance. Student satisfaction with learning basic statistics using the STAD teaching technique was at a very high level with a mean score of 4.37 and a standard deviation of 0.12.
