Studying the Teaching and Learning Situation of Mathematics in Lower Secondary Schools in Pek District, Xiengkhuang Province, Academic Year 2020-2021

The purpose of this research is to study the teaching and learning situation of mathematics in lower secondary schools in Pek District, Xiengkhuang Province, and to propose recommendations for its improvement. The sample group for this research was selected using a purposive sampling method, consisting of representatives from five lower secondary schools, totalling 214 participants. The participants were divided into three groups: school administrators, mathematics teachers, and lower secondary students. The research tools used in this study included questionnaires and open-ended questions, allowing respondents to provide suggestions. The results indicated that the opinions of school administrators, mathematics teachers, and lower secondary students in Pek District, Xiengkhuang Province, regarding the management of mathematics teaching and learning, were at a very high level. Additionally, the recommendations varied among groups: school administrators primarily focused on personnel management, mathematics teachers emphasized the need for teaching and learning materials, and students highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities.
