This research aimed to enhance the speaking skills of preschool children, focusing on their ability to pronounce words and short sentences based on pictures. The study also examined the effectiveness of circle activities in improving these skills among kindergarteners. The participants included 21 students (8 girls) from Kindergarten Level 2 at SATHIT Kindergarten School, Luang Prabang Teachers Training College, during the 2021-2022 academic year. Data were collected through lesson plans, observations of children's learning behavior, and five content areas. The research team followed these steps: reviewing lesson plans and teaching methods for observation and speaking, and creating circle activities that focused on speaking words based on pictures and reading words. The teaching sessions lasted 25 minutes each, with six sessions over two months. The results were calculated as percentages. The study’s findings showed continuous improvement in children’s ability to pronounce words and short sentences over six weeks, with the following percentages: 46.98%, 49.84%, 54.60%, 61.59%, 71.75%, and 87.62%. Furthermore, the Lao language circle activities, involving observation of the teacher’s speaking skills and practicing pronunciation based on pictures, were engaging and effective in improving language skills. These activities helped enhance speaking and reading abilities. By the end of the study, 87.62% of the target issues were resolved, indicating significant progress. The research demonstrates that structured circle activities are an effective method for promoting language development in early childhood education.
